Integrating Telegram with Russian ID Services

PROSTO24, a leading Russian technology portal, reports on an innovative approach to leveraging Telegram as a notification delivery channel while shifting user identification to domestic Russian services. This method, exemplified by the «My AntiSocial Network» project, presents a ready-made solution for legal Telegram access via Russian ID services such as VK ID, Yandex ID, and MAX.

Separating Identity and Delivery Channel

The core principle behind this project is a clear distinction between two key concepts:

  • User Identity: established through third-party ID services.
  • Channel Identity: utilized for sending notifications.

Under this model, Telegram maintains its role as a convenient conduit for content distribution, such as news feeds. However, the user’s login or authentication process does not occur directly via Telegram. Instead, users authenticate using one of the designated Russian ID services: VK ID, Yandex ID, or MAX. Following successful authentication, their telegram_id is linked to their account solely for the purpose of receiving notifications and content, not for direct login to the messenger via that identifier.

This strategy provides both flexibility and compliance, enabling projects to utilize Telegram’s extensive communication capabilities while integrating authentication through trusted Russian platforms.
