Framework Upgrades its Modular 12-inch Laptop

Framework has unveiled a refreshed version of its 12.2-inch convertible laptop, the Framework Laptop 12. This update introduces Intel’s latest Core Series 3 processors, replacing the previous 13th-generation Core series. This move underscores Framework’s commitment to providing users with cutting-edge hardware solutions and enhanced performance.

Expanded Customization and Connectivity

Beyond the new processors, the updated Framework Laptop 12 boasts several significant enhancements that boost its functionality and user experience. It now includes Thunderbolt 4 support, facilitating high-speed data transfer and extensive peripheral connectivity. The laptop also features Wi-Fi 7, promising faster and more stable wireless connections, and supports high-speed DDR5 memory, contributing to overall system responsiveness.

Framework has also expanded its hardware customization options and now offers a pre-built Linux option. The base configuration for the Framework Laptop 12 starts at $549, making it $100 less expensive than the previous version’s launch price of $699 last year.

Preorders for the refreshed Framework Laptop 12 are currently open. According to the manufacturer, the first batch of devices is scheduled for shipment in October.
