Managing AI-Generated Media Watermarks in Google Tools
Google has introduced a new capability that enables users to remove visible watermarks from media content produced with its artificial intelligence tools. This update applies to images, videos, and music generated by AI.
Introducing the “Media watermark” Setting
With this recent update, users can now toggle off a new setting labeled “Media watermark.” This option is accessible within Gemini and Google’s AI video generator, Flow. When deactivated, the distinctive “sparkle” watermark, typically found in the bottom-right corner of the generated content, will no longer be present.
Invisible Benchmarks Remain Intact
It is crucial to understand that disabling the visible watermark does not impact the invisible benchmarks. These internal markers continue to be utilized for identifying AI-generated files, ensuring that their origin can still be traced regardless of the user’s visibility settings.
This is a welcome change! I’ve been using Gemini for a while now, and while the AI generations are often impressive, that little sparkle watermark was always a bit of a nuisance when integrating images into personal projects.
