Record-Breaking Speed for Levitating Train
Chinese engineers have successfully conducted trials of a prototype magnetically levitated train, commonly known as a maglev, setting a new world record for acceleration. The prototype, weighing approximately 1.1 metric tons, reached a speed of 800 km/h in a mere 5.3 seconds.

The record-setting performance took place on a one-kilometer test track at the East Lake Laboratory (Donghu Laboratory) in Hubei Province. This achievement underscores the continuous advancements made by developers since the track’s launch about a year ago.
The ongoing development of levitating trains is pushing their speed capabilities closer to those of commercial aircraft, signaling new possibilities for high-speed ground transportation.
