Google Launches New Gemini 3.8 Flash and Cyber AI Models
Google has announced the release of Gemini 3.8 Flash, the latest and most intelligent iteration in its rapidly expanding Flash series of AI models. This marks the third launch within the last six weeks, signaling Google’s aggressive pace in AI development. According to the developers, 3.8 Flash features significant enhancements in key areas such as programming, autonomous AI agent capabilities, and the efficient resolution of complex multi-step tasks.
Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber: Specialized AI for Data Protection
Concurrently with the main model, Google introduced Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber—a specialized version engineered for cybersecurity applications. This variant is designed to identify vulnerabilities and automate the creation of patches for computer systems. Access to Flash Cyber is currently restricted to vetted specialists participating in the new Fairwind program.
Both 3.8 Flash and Flash Cyber are built upon the same foundational system. However, Flash Cyber incorporates less stringent constraints, allowing it greater flexibility in addressing specific computer system protection tasks. Google states that the new model “works harder” than its predecessor, Gemini 3.7 Flash, by performing more reasoning steps on complex tasks and iteratively calling tools. Notably, the introductory pricing for 3.8 Flash remains consistent with 3.7 Flash, at $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens.
