TP-Link has officially unveiled its inaugural consumer router designed to support the upcoming Wi-Fi 8 (802.11bn) standard. The company had previously indicated its intention to release hardware compatible with this next-generation specification earlier this year. The newly announced tri-band Archer 8 Ultra BN19000 router is poised to address common connectivity challenges faced by users.

The Archer 8 Ultra BN19000 router is scheduled for retail availability on September 30. This device, alongside the Deco 8 Ultra mesh system, was showcased at IFA 2026. Both products are engineered to leverage the forthcoming IEEE 802.11bn standard, aiming to significantly enhance wireless performance and reliability for consumers.
Super interested in this, especially after my experience with Wi-Fi 7. I’ve been running the Archer BE900 for a while, and while the speeds are phenomenal when close, I still hit dead zones in my house, even with extenders. I’m really hoping Wi-Fi 8’s promised range improvements are significant. My tip: always hardwire your most critical devices if possible, even with the latest Wi-Fi standards. It saves a lot of headaches when troubleshooting.
