According to analytics from M.Video, demand for refurbished Android smartphones saw a substantial increase leading up to the new academic year. During the last full week of August, from August 24 to 30, 2026, sales of these devices surged by 13% compared to the preceding week (August 17–23).
Sales Growth and Market Share Expansion
August 2026 marked a period of notable uplift for the refurbished Android smartphone segment. Overall sales volume for these devices in August grew by 15% quantitatively compared to July. In monetary terms, this growth was even more pronounced, reaching 19%. The average cost of a refurbished Android smartphone was approximately 23.4 thousand rubles.
Furthermore, the share of Android devices in total refurbished smartphone sales increased to 56% in August 2026, up from 51% in July. This trend underscores the growing popularity and consumer confidence in refurbished Android models.
