Lego Expands Nintendo Collaboration with New Donkey Kong Arcade Set

Lego has announced its latest collaboration with Nintendo, introducing a new set that recreates the iconic Donkey Kong arcade machine. This release continues Lego’s successful partnership with Nintendo, offering enthusiasts a detailed brick-built version of the classic arcade experience.

Shigeru Miyamoto’s Approval

The new set has reportedly garnered approval from Shigeru Miyamoto, the renowned creator of Mario. This endorsement highlights the authenticity and meticulous design incorporated into the set, ensuring it captures the essence of the original game.

Designed by Carl Merriam

Carl Merriam, a designer known for his contributions to several beloved nostalgia-inducing Lego sets, including the Lego Nintendo Game Boy and Piranha Plant, played a role in developing this new Donkey Kong arcade machine set. Merriam’s previous work also includes assistance on notable sets such as the Lion Knights’ Castle, Galaxy Explorer, and Pirates of Barracuda Bay.

The new set promises “barrels of fun,” allowing fans to engage with elements reminiscent of Mario jumping over endless barrels in the original game. This addition is a significant highlight for both Lego collectors and retro gaming enthusiasts, further enriching the Lego Nintendo collection.
