Following the SK Group leadership’s revelations about SK hynix’s readiness to build a semiconductor memory plant in the US, speculation emerged, notably from Korea JoongAng Daily, suggesting the South Korean firm’s interest in acquiring Intel’s unfinished complex in Ohio. However, representatives from both SK hynix and Intel promptly refuted these rumors, clarifying that such an acquisition is not under consideration. While SK hynix remains open to investing in US-based memory production, specific sites for acquisition have not been confirmed.
